Healthy breakfast options for us almost always still circulate around a brilliant bircher muesli, appetising omelettes and pretty parfaits !! It occurred to me this morning as I checked the ingredients and watched the sailing team spoon out their #1 breakfast choice into their bowls, some people still just LOVE a good granola!!

Unfortunately, a majority of the granola that is pre-packaged in supermarkets is fully-loaded with refined sugars to enhance flavour and help increase shelf life.

Here’s a great healthy recipe for granola you can make at home, filled with all the goodness and crunch but without added sugar.

Crunchy Nutritious Granola

2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1 tbsp raisins
1/2 cup dehydrated berries (optional. I prefer mine fresh!!)
1/2 cup dried shredded coconut
2 tsps finely sliced ginger
2 tsps cinnamon
1/4 cup coconut oil
1 tbsp stevia or 100% maple syrup

Preheat oven to 180 degrees.

Combine all ingredients into a large bowl.

Spread mixture onto baking paper creating at thin layer.

Bake for 10 minutes and mix with spoon or spatula.

Bake for a further 10-15 minutes until golden brown.

Eat immediately with a touch of coconut yoghurt, nut milk and banana or refrigerate overnight. Store in an airtight container for optimum crunch.

Let’s reduce obesity worldwide one breakfast recipe at time !!!

Always committed to your success,
