By |February 5th, 2016|

After many of you reaching out to me recently,  sharing icky body symptoms, flu stories or just letting me know of a dip in energy this month, I was inspired to put together my favourite immune boosting recipes.
We live in the Caribbean and it feels like summer most of the year round here, so most of these remedies I store in the fridge or at room temperature but you can down many of these as [...]

By |January 13th, 2016|

While we all love having that inner glow that swishes happy and peaceful energy wherever we go (heads turn, comments fly, we feel almighty high).
It is also positively common to feel a pull that drags us down sometimes. It can last days, weeks or even months at a time. You know it. You feel it deep in your bones and are left feeling helpless, low, less distiguished and distracted. ICK!
If you have lost your drive, found a mud pit and are starting to unpack your bags… the good [...]

By |January 6th, 2015|

Ah, it’s morning, it’s cleansing time and it’s 2015! Feels great doesn’t it?
As I sit here sipping on my kale juice (part of my New Years cleanse), I had to stop still in my boots and share it! After all, sharing awesome information is what brings us closer together and gives us a platform on which to launch our brilliant selves!
Confession of a nutritionist
When I first started drinking green goblets of juice back in 2007, I honestly thought it was GROSS! “Why on earth would anyone [...]

5 DAY Pre-Christmas Cleanse

By |November 18th, 2014|

We all have the capability of sticking to a plan, creating a whole new lifestyle and changing thoughts and habits. Yet most of us STILL seem to have trouble committing to our health over Christmas.
As a trainer and coach of almost 10 years (I can’t believe that number!), I have seen many healthy and unhealthy Christmas’s come and go. I have witnessed many colleagues, raw foodists, family, friends and life long clients turn into sugar-high spirits over the Christmas period. I have even had times in my life [...]

REAL advice on which juicer is best for you !

REAL advice on which juicer is best for YOU !

I have many people asking for my opinion on the best juicer to buy and in the last few years, I have spent a great deal of time talking to people in the industry, trying juicers first hand and researching their mechanical parts to understand their structure and how they work.

What have I come up with?

Well, unfortunately, there is no one juicer that suits everyone. Sorry!

There are just too many different factors involved, from produce types to cleaning, price, primary use, size and space!

As I spent more time in the juicing maze, I found a number [...]

Oooh so excited to share this Thirsty Thursday recipe with you. It’s so simple I had to double take and ask myself if I am really going to post this!? The truth is, I nearly fell over this morning when I drank my mango passion and I decided it was time I blogged about it.

3 ripe mangoes
2 ripe passionfruit
1/2 cup filtered water

Peel mangoes and remove flesh from seeds. Add mango chunks to blender. Cut passionfruit in half and scoop pulp into blender.

True Love Smoothie

By |June 14th, 2013|

It’s THIRSTY THURSDAY and I already know what the favourite will be on the menu today.
As I sit here on a small island in the Caribbean (you would think I’m about to say “looking out over the turquoise sea and coconut trees”), I’m actually snug as a bug  indoors as it pours with rain outside (you guessed it, hurricane season started early this year!). With the downpour and cool breeze, I have a craving for something that’s going to give my soul a punch of flavour and the [...]

Orange carrots. A thing of the past?

By |April 4th, 2013|

Ever wondered why Carrots are orange?

Well actually, there are many different varieties of carrots as Prof Sue Hartley outlines in one of her recent lectures and in fact not all carrots are orange at all. Some carrots are white and others are purple!

If you do a little research as to why the most popular carrots are orange, you will come across some serious discussion surrounding the Dutch cultivation of orange carrots. Some suggest that white and purple carrots were selectively bred many 100’s of years ago in an effort to [...]
