A Healthy Happy Christmas!

By |December 16th, 2017|

Who doesn’t love a little Christmas CHEERS to go with the Christmas CHEER! So, here’s to you and here’s to your family with this delicious Strawberry cocktail.

The recipe is a mocktail (alcohol free) but if you want to add some jazz to it I will look the other way 🙂

This makes enough for 2 drinks so if you’re making it for the whole party, I would make 10 batches and put it in a jug with 2 whole sprigs of mint as a garnish.

Merry Christmas and CHEERS!

¾ cup coconut water

To heal faster and feel better!

By |December 14th, 2017|

Recently, I had a beautiful woman reach out to me for advice for her daughter who will be undergoing surgery soon.
I love when people ask what they can do to prepare their skin and help wound healing as sometimes food is overlooked with all the technicalities and medications surrounding surgical intervention.
Here are a few quick and delicious tips that can dramatically improve reactions to anesthesia, x-rays, ultrasound, pain medication and reduce stress related to surgery.

Topical Remedies

Prepping the skin with cold pressed coconut oil twice per day [...]

Without giving up your To-Do list

By |October 19th, 2017|

When I first moved to the islands (“paradise” right?), I had high expectations of my perfect life. I was going to indulge in more self care, take more ‘me time’ and learn to slow down. Well, I did all of those things (eventually), however it wasn’t quite as easy as I had imagined.

Finding out that ‘my time-limitations’ were inevitably just the same here as they had been in the city, was not exactly self satisfying.
When I got real with myself, it turned out that I was stuck in old habits [...]

and what the grass to do about it …

By |August 6th, 2017|

If you’re feeling tense, anxious or stressed.. stop for a minute, take a breath and read these 5 reasons why you might be hanging out in overwhelm.
1. Not saying NO enough
Saying yes to everything is a sure way to end up in overwhelm. For years, I was a ‘people pleaser’ and I put others expectations of me before my own personal needs. Big no no for happiness! What I didn’t know at the time was that I was putting my own self worth in the hands of [...]

Raw Chocolate Ice-cream Cake

By |April 27th, 2017|

Growing up in Australia, the weather was hot and we played in the street straight after school until our parents called us in for dinner.
We used to be so creative in putting together our own outdoor games. We made home to just about every area of the street and yard possible. From holding running races up and and down mounds of sand my Dad was using (or hoping to use) for renovations, to filling our tiny row boat with water and pretending it was an olympic size swimming pool, to climbing high and [...]

NO MORE Food Guilt!

By |April 11th, 2017|

Let’s be real. We all turn to different foods to satisfy cravings, feed emotions or just to feel ‘better’ at some time or another. We are all in this game together so don’t beat yourself up. I do it as well!
Yep, in fact I did this for years and it spun me into a weird negative cycle of hating on myself and eating more.
The thing is.. hating on ourselves for putting something less than optimal in our bodies only makes matters worse and actually increases the tendency to turn [...]

Remedies to BOOST your BODY!

By |February 5th, 2016|

After many of you reaching out to me recently,  sharing icky body symptoms, flu stories or just letting me know of a dip in energy this month, I was inspired to put together my favourite immune boosting recipes.
We live in the Caribbean and it feels like summer most of the year round here, so most of these remedies I store in the fridge or at room temperature but you can down many of these as [...]

10 Ways to Get your MOJO Back

By |January 13th, 2016|

While we all love having that inner glow that swishes happy and peaceful energy wherever we go (heads turn, comments fly, we feel almighty high).
It is also positively common to feel a pull that drags us down sometimes. It can last days, weeks or even months at a time. You know it. You feel it deep in your bones and are left feeling helpless, low, less distiguished and distracted. ICK!
If you have lost your drive, found a mud pit and are starting to unpack your bags… the good [...]
